Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has decided to quit smoking once again. This time, it’s a personal choice tied to a special moment in his life—his son Junaid Khan’s debut film, Loveyapa. The actor shared this decision during the trailer launch of the upcoming romantic comedy, surprising fans and the media alike.

Aamir, who has often spoken about his struggle with smoking, revealed that quitting was on his mind for a while. However, this time, he made the move to support his son’s journey in the film industry. “It felt like the right thing to do as a father. I wanted to make a personal sacrifice, hoping it brings positivity to Junaid’s debut,” Aamir shared.

Aamir’s Smoking Journey

Over the years, Aamir has had an on-and-off relationship with smoking. He once quit while training for his physically demanding role in Dhoom 3. The action thriller, released in 2013, required him to bulk up and perform high-energy stunts. At the time, he managed to stay away from cigarettes for a few years.

But like many others, he found himself returning to the habit. “Whenever my movies release, the stress gets to me, and I smoke more,” he admitted in an older interview.

Cigarettes, Pipes, and Cigars

Aamir also shared some interesting insights about his preferences. While his cigarette smoking sometimes bothered his ex-wife, Kiran Rao, she didn’t mind when he switched to a pipe. “Kiran was affected by cigarette smoke, but she wasn’t averse to the pipe. I even tried cigars, but honestly, they didn’t feel right for me,” he said during a 2018 conversation with Mid-Day.

His love-hate relationship with smoking has been a long battle. He confessed to enjoying it despite knowing it wasn’t good for him. But now, he feels it’s time to let go for good.

A Family Decision

Aamir’s decision also reflects his growing focus on family. He was married to Kiran Rao for 16 years before they amicably parted ways in 2021. The two remain close friends and co-parents to their son, Azad. While Aamir has always been private about his personal life, he often credits Kiran for influencing many positive changes in him.

This time, his motivation comes from being a father. Junaid’s debut marks a significant milestone for the Khan family, and Aamir wants to set an example. “Junaid is stepping into a new chapter, and I want to support him in every way I can,” he said.

Fans React

Fans have always admired Aamir for his dedication and discipline, whether it’s his work or personal decisions. Social media has been abuzz with reactions to his announcement. Many praised him for taking this step and wished him strength to stay committed.

Quitting smoking isn’t easy, especially for someone who’s been doing it for years. But Aamir’s decision shows his determination to focus on his health and his family’s happiness.

The Next Chapter

With Loveyapa set to release soon, all eyes are on Junaid Khan and his performance in the film. Aamir, being the proud dad, has been cheering him on every step of the way.

As for Aamir, he seems ready to embrace a smoke-free life, one day at a time. Fans and well-wishers are hopeful that this time, he stays the course for good.

It’s not just a personal win for Aamir but also an inspiring story for anyone trying to kick a habit. If he can do it, so can many others.
