Junaid Khan Talks About Cinema Bond With Boney Kapoor Over Aamir Khan

Junaid Khan, the son of superstar Aamir Khan, is creating waves not just for his upcoming film Loveyapa but also for his candid comments about family and cinema. The actor, who stars opposite Khushi Kapoor in the romantic drama, recently shared some insights about his love for talking about movies. Interestingly, he prefers having such discussions with producer Boney Kapoor rather than his own father.

During a recent interview, Junaid explained why he finds conversations with Khushi Kapoor’s father, Boney Kapoor, so engaging. “I love hanging out with him,” he shared. “I can talk to him for hours. He has the best stories and has seen so much in the film industry. It’s like sitting with a library of cinema experiences.”

Boney Kapoor, a veteran producer with almost five decades of experience, is well-known for his deep understanding of filmmaking. Junaid seems to cherish the time spent listening to Boney’s tales about the industry’s golden days, hits, flops, and everything in between.

When asked why he doesn’t have similar conversations with his father, Aamir Khan, who is a giant in Indian cinema, Junaid gave an honest and humorous reply. “He’s definitely a treasure trove of stories too. But as they say, ghar ki murgi dal barabar. Sometimes, we value what’s outside more than what’s right in front of us,” he admitted with a smile.

Aamir Khan is known for his method acting and dedication to his craft. He’s given iconic films like Lagaan, Dangal, and Taare Zameen Par. Junaid grew up watching his father’s journey, but he hinted that familiarity might be why he doesn’t seek out Aamir for movie talks as much as others might expect.

Junaid also shared an interesting anecdote about how his parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, discovered his dyslexia when they were reading the script of Taare Zameen Par. It was a personal moment that made him connect deeply with the film.

This revelation adds another layer to Junaid’s approach to cinema. He seems to carry his unique perspective, shaped by personal experiences and interactions, into his work. Talking about his relationship with his father, he said, “Of course, my dad is like an encyclopedia of films. But maybe it’s because I’ve grown up around him, and I know his stories well, that I find it refreshing to hear someone else’s.”

It’s clear that Junaid is carving his own path in the industry. While he might carry the legacy of the Khan name, he’s determined to explore cinema on his own terms. His comments also highlight the easygoing bond he shares with Khushi Kapoor’s family, which could make their chemistry in Loveyapa even more promising.

As the film’s release date approaches, fans are eager to see what Junaid and Khushi bring to the screen. Meanwhile, Junaid’s fresh perspective on family, fame, and filmmaking is winning hearts. Whether it’s his candid remarks or his choice to embrace conversations with Boney Kapoor, he’s showing that he’s not afraid to step outside familiar territory.

Loveyapa, directed by Sameer Sharma, is slated to hit theaters in February 2025. With Junaid’s grounded personality and relatable anecdotes, he’s already capturing attention—even before the first look of the film is out.
