Upcoming Stock Market Holidays
Today’s closure is one of three holidays for Indian markets in November:
- November 15, 2024 – Guru Nanak Jayanti
- November 20, 2024 – Maharashtra Assembly General Elections
- December 25, 2024 – Christmas
Market Performance This Week
This holiday break follows a tough week for the markets, with Sensex and Nifty enduring a six-session losing streak. This downturn is largely due to selling pressure from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and concerns about rising retail inflation. Sectors like fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) have felt the pinch, as inflation fears dampen investor sentiment.
With the markets set to reopen on Monday, all eyes will be on whether Sensex and Nifty can reverse this week’s losses and regain stability.
