Actor Arjun Bijlani is breathing a sigh of relief as his mother, Shakti Bijlani, is finally back home after spending two stressful weeks in the hospital. Shakti, who had been battling Influenza B, was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai and required intensive care.
She was discharged earlier this week, on Tuesday, still needing oxygen support but in a much-improved state. Her return home coincided with the 10th birthday of Arjun’s son, Ayaan, making the day extra special for the family.
Talking about the challenging days, Arjun shared, “The past few weeks were very tough for all of us. My mom’s health was a huge concern, and there were moments when it got really scary. But seeing her recover and smile again is such a relief. It feels like a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders.”
The 42-year-old actor went on to describe how his wife, Neha Swamy, and Ayaan also fell sick during the same period. While Neha and Ayaan managed to recover, Shakti’s condition worsened, adding to the family’s stress.
“It’s not easy when multiple people in your family are unwell at the same time. You feel like everything is happening all at once, and you’re running out of energy to keep up. I’m just grateful that things are better now,” he added.
Despite the difficulties, there was a silver lining. Shakti’s discharge on Ayaan’s birthday brought some much-needed joy to the Bijlani household. Arjun said it gave them a reason to celebrate, even after a tough couple of weeks.
“When my mom came home on Ayaan’s birthday, it felt like a gift for all of us. We didn’t plan anything big this year because of everything that’s been going on. But just having her back and seeing Ayaan happy made it a day to remember,” he said with a smile.
The emotional homecoming was marked by heartfelt moments, as Arjun, Neha, and Ayaan welcomed Shakti back with open arms. They decorated the house with balloons and flowers to create a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
Fans and friends of Arjun have been sending prayers and good wishes ever since he shared updates about his mother’s health. The actor also expressed his gratitude towards the medical staff who took care of her and everyone who reached out during the tough time.
Shakti’s health scare has also reminded Arjun to prioritize family and health over everything else. “These situations really make you value the small things. A smile from a loved one, sharing a meal together, just being there for each other—it’s what matters the most,” he said.
Arjun has always been vocal about his love for his family and often shares glimpses of his life on social media. Whether it’s celebrating milestones or going through tough times, he has always appreciated the bond he shares with his loved ones.
As Shakti continues her recovery at home, Arjun remains focused on ensuring she gets the care and comfort she needs. For now, the Bijlani family is just happy to have their matriarch back where she belongs—home.
The actor, who is a popular face in the TV industry, is also balancing his professional commitments with his personal responsibilities. He recently spoke about completing two decades in showbiz and how staying relevant is a challenge in today’s times.
For now, though, his main focus is on his family. And for Arjun, seeing his mother smile again is all the motivation he needs to keep going.
