On May 10, 2025, Honda officially launched the CB650R E-Clutch in India at a starting price of ₹9.60 lakh (ex-showroom). This model is ₹40,000 more expensive than the standard version of the CB650R. So, what’s new? The biggest update is Honda’s E-Clutch technology, which makes gear shifting easier, especially during city rides.

The E-Clutch is a special technology that reduces the effort of shifting gears. It uses servo motors to help engage and disengage the clutch automatically. So, riders don’t always need to pull the clutch lever while riding or at a stop.

This system is helpful in heavy traffic or while riding for long hours. If you’re tired of frequent gear changes, this tech makes your ride smoother. However, if you are someone who enjoys full control over your motorcycle, you can turn off the E-Clutch system and switch to manual mode anytime.

For more details about Honda’s E-Clutch, you can visit their official website.

The CB650R E-Clutch uses the same engine as the standard model. It is powered by a 649cc, inline four-cylinder engine. The engine delivers 94 bhp and 62.3 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox that now comes with the optional E-Clutch feature.
This bike follows Honda’s Neo-Retro design theme, which blends classic styling with modern features. Key design highlights include:

  • Oval-shaped LED headlamp
  • Muscular fuel tank
  • Upswept rear tail section
  • Four visible exhaust headers flowing into a stylish end can

The bike looks premium and has a strong road presence.

The CB650R E-Clutch is built on a steel frame. It comes with a USD (Upside Down) front fork and a rear monoshock, offering good balance and comfort on Indian roads.

For braking, the motorcycle features:

  • Twin disc brakes at the front
  • Single disc brake at the rear

These brakes provide strong stopping power and come with ABS for added safety.

Availability and Bookings

Honda has already started accepting bookings for the CB650R E-Clutch in India. Deliveries will begin soon, though the company hasn’t announced an exact date yet.

This bike will be sold through Honda’s premium BigWing dealerships. You can check the availability and book the model by visiting the Honda BigWing website.

The Honda CB650R E-Clutch is ideal for riders who want sporty performance with the comfort of easier gear shifting. While it costs a bit more than the regular CB650R, the added technology can make daily riding less tiring. It’s also a great option for new riders who are still learning manual gear handling.
